A Workshop on the Application of Change Management

Purpose:

To provide the participants with an overview of the principles of effective change management and a practical set of processes for implementing change.

This course recognises that we live in an ever-changing world to which organisations must continually adapt and evolve. Initiatives and projects are generally the vehicles we use to cause changes to the way organisations operate and these consequently impact upon the individuals connected to the organisation.

To fully realise the anticipated benefits of any change, we need to ensure that the people who are impacted are effectively managed through the transition.

Derivation:

The content of this workshop is derived from the books and papers of a number of authors including the work of John P. Kotter, Jeffrey M. Hyatt, Peter Senge, Price Pritchett, Esther Cameron & Mike Green, Gareth Morgan, Kepner Tregoe and upon the author's many years of experience in change management and project management. The "Change Management Methodology" described aligns with some aspects of the PRINCE2® Project Management Methodology. PRINCE2® is a Registered Trade Mark of the Office of Government Commerce in the United Kingdom and other countries.

Format & Presentation:

This workshop is intended to be conducted over two days, delivered by a facilitator utilising PowerPoint presentations, group exercises based on actual change initiatives, and supported by course manuals.
